RED BULL STUDIOS

Tasked with creating a world class recording studio in an unused Berlin power station from the 1920s, the design used the irregular polygonal shapes required for acoustics to create an inhabitable landscape. Recording facilities on the interior, social spaces on the exterior with the two visually connected through a series of triangular skylights. More than 1 kilometer of copper bands were used to clad and unify the volumes, referencing the venue’s former use and speaking to Red Bull’s larger brand image around power and energy.
